Encounter Ministry Steps Up In Service For CityFest

Hopefully you had a chance to experience Reno-Tahoe CityFest, which featured multiple events through the end of August.

If you did, you might have noticed some familiar faces from Encounter Ministry. The reason is the ministry’s collective servant heart was on full display throughout the summer leading up to the main events.

The leadership team was heavily involved in assisting with planning, promoting, and hosting both the Men’s and Women’s outreach events for CityFest. What was most heartening were the dozens and dozens of Encounter Ministry volunteers who came out and served all of these events in so many ways.

Service is one of the core missions of Encounter Ministry and it was inspiring to see this all lived out powerfully this summer.

“Jesus was the one who modeled service for us,” Shelli says. “He came as a servant, he didn’t come as a king. We believe in building a community of servers at Encounter Ministry, and it’s great to see that come to fruition.”
